- Now copy this download .zip file to your SD Card;
- Power Off your Noir A8;
- Boot your phone into Recovery mode: Hold down the POWER + VOLUME UP buttons, release the POWER button when you see the boot logo;
- Make a backup: select backup and restore, then backup. When it is done select Go Back;
- Now perform the following Wipes:
Select Wipe/Data Factory Cache;
Select Wipe Cache Partition;
Go to advanced and select wipe dalvik cache;
Go back to the main menu. - Now select Select Install zip from sdcard, then Choose zip from sdcard and then select the .zip file that you copied to your SD Card and select Yes;
Once the installtion is completed, your Qmobile will reboot into JellyBean 4.1.1.

The question is why we should update the firmware of our maemo device? There are many reasons to it like:
* Bug fixes in new firmware
* Stability and improvement in new firmware
* You have corrupted the software of your device
* A virus has corrupted it, though it is very rare if you take little care
* Introduction of new feature in the firmware
* And sometimes for debranding
Methods of Firmware Update:
There are three common and easy methods of updating the firmware of N900.
1. Via Nokia Software Updater:
It is easy and most recommended method to upgrade the firmware of maemo device. If there is new firmware update is available, this is the recommended way to do it. You can see more details here how to update using NSU.
2. Manual Method using Flasher:
Here I want to explain the manual method of flashing your device. This method is recommended if you are reinstalling the same/latest (but not the newest which will be available through NSU only) firmware which you have already on your device.
Step by Step Method of Flashing using Flasher:
This method is windows based method (esp XP), but if you have got other operating system (Mac or Linux), you can get a link.
* Download and install the latest version of Flasher (e.g. maemo_flasher-3.5_2.5.2.2.exe).
* Download the latest firmware (.bin) file and save to ‘c:\Program Files\maemo\flasher-3.5\’
* Fully charge the battery.
* Unplug charger and switch off the device.
* Open the command prompt on XP. Start + Run. Type cmd and press Enter.
* Change directory to the flasher program
cd "c:\Program Files\maemo\flasher-3.5"
* Connect the USB cable while pressing ‘u’ key on the N900 (The detailed procedure of connecting the N900 is here).
1. Turn off Maemo device
2. Press and hold down key ‘u’
3. Connect USB cable between Maemo device and host PC while holding down key ‘u’
4. When USB cable gets connected it powers Maemo device and set’s it to flashing mode
5. When USB icon appears on right upper corner Maemo device is in flashing mode
6. You can release key ‘u’
* Run the following command:
flasher-3.5.exe -F RX-51_2009SE_1.2009.42-11_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -f -R
The update will take about 4 minutes after which the N900 will reboot and display the Welcome screen with Regional settings.
You may experience problem if you are running windows seven/vista. You will have to flash the device in xp mode under Seven x64 and it will work perfectly.
3. via Seamless Software Update (SSU):
This method is same as FOTA (firmware over the air) in symbian mobiles, but it has been named as Seamless Software Update (SSU).
Your N900 will notify you of an update when one becomes available, just as it does for application updates. You may initiate the update process immediately or, if you prefer, ignore it for the moment and wait until your phone is, say, fully charged and on a good WiFi connection.
The process is:
1. A blinking notification–the same as appears when application updates are available–appears in the status area of your N900.
2. Tapping the notification opens the Application Manager which automatically shows the available update. (Should you decide to hold off on installing the update for any reason–busy, low battery, on expensive data connection, etc.–you can close Application Manager. The SSU will remain waiting in the “Update” area of Application Manager until you’re ready.)
3. Tap the update to begin the download and installation process.
4. Your N900 will prompt you to make a new backup of your data and settings just in case. Making a backup may be skipped, should you want to throw caution to the wind.
5. Your N900 will close all open applications.
6. Your N900 will download the update.
7. Your N900 will automatically install the update.
8. Your N900 may reboot.
9. Done.

The question is why we should update the firmware of our maemo device? There are many reasons to it like:
* Bug fixes in new firmware
* Stability and improvement in new firmware
* You have corrupted the software of your device
* A virus has corrupted it, though it is very rare if you take little care
* Introduction of new feature in the firmware
* And sometimes for debranding
Methods of Firmware Update:
There are three common and easy methods of updating the firmware of N900.
1. Via Nokia Software Updater:
It is easy and most recommended method to upgrade the firmware of maemo device. If there is new firmware update is available, this is the recommended way to do it. You can see more details here how to update using NSU.
2. Manual Method using Flasher:

Full Unlock for Lumia 710 & 800 see step by step
INSTRUCTIONS
Requires an unlocked bootloader (a.k.a. qualcomm development bootloader).
Easy to check: Turn the phone OFF, then press and hold VOLUME UP + POWER until you notice a short vibration. Plug in to the computer. If the phone turns up in disk mode (USB Mass Storage Device), then you have an unlocked bootloader. IF you're in Windows, it will ask if you want to format the disk. SAY NO OR IT WILL EXPLODE (it won't explode but you might break it)
If the device detected by the computer is Nokia DLOAD you have a locked bootloader and you're out of luck, at least for now.
but it's more involved to find the appropiate partition:
dd if=./os-new.nb of=/dev/sdX9
Where X is the disk detected by your linux distribution.
After that, you'll need to hard reset the phone. Hold Power button for 10 seconds to exit Qualcomm's disk mode, and press and hold POWER+VOLUMEDOWN+CAMERA until you feel the phone vibrate. After that, RELEASE power button but KEEP HOLDING volume down + camera for five or more seconds. This will trigger the hard reset.
Lumia 800: Full Unlock
sdb3.rar: Flash it to PARTITION #3. It contains 12070's amss & adsp. Not absolutely required but if you have an older version this should give you better battery life.

Nokia Sl3 Unlock Service
1. Download NSS Pro (v 0.48 minimum required) and extract to a directory on your computer(do not run NSS from WinRar directly!)
2. Start NSS Pro, then go to Simlocks, then Settings
3. Check the 'Auto download extra files on program startup
4. Close the program, then start it again. Please wait for the download to finish
5. Power up your phone and connect to the PC via USB cable
6. Select OVI mode, make sure all drivers are installed correctly
7. If all ok, the phone should appear in the usb devices list at the bottom of
NSS, when USB connection is selected
8. Click on the device, then press the Detect button. If all ok, the IMEI number and the
phone model should be displayed in the bottom bar of the program
9. Go to Simlocks, then BB5, click on the Read button
10. Number of details should be printed, including that your phone has 15 digits unlock code
and it's locked, including the MCC+MNC of the Network, so you can continue
11. Click on the Submit to Server button, it's a long process, more drivers will be installed.
12. It is ok to get error in step 11, you can try 2-3 times or more, until you get error that
you need to save your un/pw
13. This means your phone is supported for unlock, you can go here and pay with your PayPal account or a credit card, please click on the unlock service.
14. Please allow few hours for the payment to be processed, when done you will receive an e-mail
confirming the payment and providing you with user name and password
15. Then connect the phone again, and go to Simlocks, then SL3 Servers
16. Click Update, then select GenieProjects server by clicking once on it
17. Enter your User Name and Password in the boxes below, then click Save
18. Now go to the BB5 tab and click Submit
19. You should see that your phone is submitted for processing
20. After that you can check the status of the process by clicking again the Check button in SL3 BF
21. After few hours the status of your job should change from idle/active to done, and you should see also an unlock code
22. Go to the SL3/BB5, manually copy the code to the Code box (just he code, 15 digits), select as
level 7 and click Upload
You are suppose to get success. If you get an error, try to load the code using the phone keypad, but make sure you enter the full string from the screen (#pw+...)
If you still getting error, you can request all seven levels from the server via the 'Get cod' button in the Simlock->SL3 Servers tab, just make sure you enter your IMEI first. Usually entering of level 1 via the phone keypad will fix a problematic phone.
That's it! If you like, you can check the status of the locks by pressing Read again
